The financial press advocate
that people should deal with Independent Financial Advisers
- why?
Tracking down the best pension plan,
mortgage or the most suitable investment scheme or insurance
policy can be a daunting task. There are hundreds of
insurance and investment groups, banks and building
societies offering many thousands of products. Trawling
through these yourself is likely to take a long time
and require a good understanding of the financial services
rules and regulations and the tax system. Although the
right product for you is almost certainly available,
it is unlikely that you'll find it on your own. Make
the wrong choice and you could be thousands of pounds
out of pocket.
Alternatively most 'advisers' from
banks, building societies and insurance companies represent
the company they work for, not you, the client. This
means that, in the main, they recommend and sell only
the products marketed by the company they represent,
whether or not these products are the best for you!
On the other hand, Independent Financial
Advisers (IFAs) are, by definition, agents representing
you, the client, and
not the product provider.
They are required, by law, to shop around the various
companies for the best value for money financial products
to suit your personal or business needs.
So, if you would like to be put in
touch with your local IFA then please complete our contact
